Large companies regularly gamble millions of pounds on large systems not knowing whether they will be on time or even work correctly.
There must be a better way to build complex software. We are looking for a customer that we can work with to build a prototype system based on the work we have already done. For the cost of 4000 lines of code we will build a system 10 times bigger to focus on the main customer issues. The full prototype can then be evaluated before negotiating work on the full system.
It is well known that roughly 30% of software projects fail but still prototyping is not considered cost-effective.
We believe there is too much risk in the development of large systems and agreements of this sort can lead to better outcomes for everybody concerned.
